Access to Courts

All financial members can use the courts at all times, access is via the combination lock on the gates, financial members are given this combination on payment of their subs.

Club Info

Gate Pa Tennis Club has been in operation since 1953, and is still going strong today. With so many other forms of sport & recreation being available, membership numbers are less than the halcyon days of the 60’s and 70’s but we are still a very active and friendly club and welcome visitors at all times.

Seniors Saturday Club Play

Organised club play is held every Saturday right throughout the year from 1:30pm. A fee of $5 for non member visitors each time applies, on our club day there is a mixture of games throughout the afternoon with all standards catered for. The focus of club day is on a friendly, social enjoyment basis for all. A mixture of games are played so as all can enjoy their day. After your tennis you are welcome to relax with cool refreshments and enjoy the social atmosphere.

Wednesday evening club day has become very popular with courts open from 6-10pm (to be confirmed)

Midweek Tennis

Organised play from 9am to noon every Wednesday right through the year, catering for both men and women at all levels; beginners to advanced welcome. You are welcome to bring your children along on a Wednesday morning. Social fun and tennis is the focus of midweek, tournaments are held from time to time and every level is catered for, all club members and visitors are welcome to midweek tennis. A fee of $5 is charged for non member visitors.

Senior Interclub

Organised by the WBOP association, this is played October through to March. Premier Division is played on Saturday afternoons, other divisions are played on Friday nights at varying venues in the WBOP district.

Ladies Interclub

The ladies also have their own interclub played on Monday mornings, this commences October. Those interested contact Janis Smith 0272 338366

Casual Play

All members are welcome to play on the courts at any time other than when the courts are being used for tournaments, competition play or coaching. Members can bring one non member to play free of charge, however if you bring more than one we expect a fee of $5 each.

Juniors may bring parents to practice with at no extra cost.

Tennis Clothing Suitable attire is expected from all members and visitors when using the courts, we have Club Polo Shirts available in the current colour of Red.

Business House Tennis

This is for everyone and gives an opportunity to involve members and non members in social tennis, teams of 4 playing doubles; 2 matches per night. Summer section runs for two 7 week periods the first starts mid October through to mid December, then again for another 7 weeks commencing in mid January. Played on Tuesday nights in 2 sections alternating start 5.30 and 7.30pm. A very popular competition.
